Rich and Rewarding

Busy Bees

Life is for Living – we passionately believe there is plenty of living still to be done even if you find yourself living in a residential home.
You may have the opportunity to pursue interests you have developed over your lifetime, to develop new interests and forge new friendships in a caring environment.

Our lifestyle programme offers a wide variety of choice so guests has the opportunity to participate in activity of their choice. Our programmes contain activities that are physical, intellectual, sensory, social and reminiscing. Weekly group activities are designed to reflect the interests of the guests and typically take the form of:

  • Special interest groups or clubs
  • Large group activities
  • Competitions
  • Outings
  • Music and/or entertainment

We’re always on the look-out for ideas that are ‘real and meaningful’ to our guests, that reflect their past hobbies and interests. Have a look at some actual examples of activities we’ve come up with which are being truly enjoyed by many guests:

We also respect that some guests may prefer more quiet pursuits and their own company and we cater for this also. They may enjoy having newspapers read to them, walking around the gardens or looking through photo’s from their past.

Family, friends and volunteers bring the vibrancy and richness of the local community into our guests lives, through such things as:

  • Bringing along their pet for some cuddles
  • ‘Adopting’ a guest as a friend or grandparent
  • Reading to some eager listeners
  • Taking guests to appointments
  • Providing an extra helping hand on outings

What’s for Dinner?

Fresh is Best if the new approach to food service that is being rolled out to our homes at present and our current guests are truly delighted.

All homes promote nutritious home-cooked meals but, lets be honest, often it doesn’t look that appealing.  We want you to celebrate taste and freshness in your  food with a dash of café-style presentation to titillate your visual senses as well.

We want to enhance the dining experience so it almost feels like you’re ‘dining out’.

We want to offer choice and the ability to share a meal with loved ones as you would have done in your own home over the years.

When you compare some of the dishes from an old and new menu you’ll not be surprised our guests  are asking for ‘seconds please …’ and their families are eyeing the new food with great envy:
