It’s Our Business to Care
Our trained and experienced staff will provide you with health care as, to us at TerraNova, health care has a far wider meaning than the clinical care you often hear referred too in other homes.
Clinical care can seem technical and impersonal, whereas health care is about the whole person, that is;
healthy mind, body and spirit
We will respect your uniqueness, culture, privacy, rights and dignity in such a way that supports your safety and independence. You (and your family/whanau, if appropriate) will be involved in decisions about your health care, just as you’ve always been.
When we assist you to better health we know you will enjoy the lifestyle, activities and social clubs we offer within our homes so much more.
Likewise we strive to improve quality of life in an end of life environment.
We are in a privileged position to assist many of our guests through the last years, months, weeks and days of their long lives.
It takes enormous skill to help people die with dignity and peace of mind when they may be frightened, confused or simply ‘tuckered out’. Rest assured we will guide and support you through this journey if and when the time comes.
We take Health Care seriously:
We weren’t happy waiting on an annual or 3-yearly audit by ‘the authorities’ to tell us our health care was effective for our guests, you mean too much to us to rely on this infrequent confirmation.
Our Clinical Operations Manager has developed a “darn good” Clinical Governance Model which gives us a comprehensive view of all clinical indicators on a monthly basis for each home in our group. Nothing short of this was acceptable to us!
We were delighted recently when independent Health Care Auditors had this to say about our Clincal Goverance Model:
“The organization is to be commended for its ongoing commitment to Quality Improvement and in particular the Clinical Goverance Model which has been developed by the Clinical Operations Manager. This is used throughout the organization, and provides a comprehensive system of quality improvement and ensures clinical outcomes are monitored and benchmarked. Feedback is obtained from all stakeholders and robust support systems are in place for staff”
Rest assured; you or your family member will be in good hands. |
