Physiotherapy is a key service that we provide to our residents. The benefits of physiotherapy are numerous, including restoring, maintaining, or improving physical activity, movement, and balance. A key outcome of physio is reducing falls (a leading cause of hospitalization).
Physiotherapy is very important in helping residents maintain independence by helping with their mobility and ability to move freely. Upon admission, every resident’s physiotherapy needs are assessed, and incorporated into their care plan. Our physios then work with residents to ease pain and increase movement.
For disabled residents we offer passive physiotherapy, where we seek to improve mobility within the constraints of a bed. The goal of passive physiotherapy is reducing discomfort.
